My Response to Shel on DBC presenters \o/

Hi all!

I was trying to make brief vlog-comment in Shel's recent blog but I found that there is no vlog-comment tool; therefore, I had to use this way.

I just wanted to add my appreciation to the rest of commenters in Shel's blog.

Cheers,
Kathryn

Hey Kathryn,

I'm sorry I don't have video comment area added to my blog. I will figure out how to do that, so anyone will not feel my v/blog is inaccessible for ASL users.

Thanks for your terrific comments and addition to my information. You made me smile, as well.

Yes, It is impossible to share the amount of information we got there.

One of the best things about DBC is meeting vloggers, and making new friends as well as seeing old friends!

I enjoyed yours and Shelley's vlogs. The disappointment I
have about DBC is that they
did not fully videotape GG, Boudreault, and Kuntze. History
is soooooo important that deaf
people should document by
videotaping presenters. The
first thing the much beloved
George Veditz was thinking
about following the 1880 Milan
Conference was to make a MOVIE.
Veditz was very much visual-
oriented and fully aware of
the importance of videos and
photos.

Since June 27-30, 2008, is
DBC's FIRST conference. So
historic! Yet, they failed
miserably to fully videotape
all presenters' presentations.
It is beyond my comprehension
that they did not since the
founders of DBC are so very
much fierce supporters of
ASL. We cannot go back to
Milwaukee to "re-do".

All we will say to the future
generations about the First
DBC Conference is: "Train Go,
Sorry."

Hello all -

I was unable to respond till now as I was at work.

Shel -

I think that you are not only one as I realized that I also don't have video tool to add to my comment area. That's okay. Smile. Agree with all what you had just typed. Cheers.

Aidan Mack -

Very nice to find you in here. Yes, I suppose I kind of bit my low lip and joined DR. Will see how things go from here, smile.

I do follow your blog from time to time - such brave woman with interesting perspective issues. Keep vloggin'....

Thank you for your belated welcome - I appreciate it.

Beaux arts de boutjean -

I took some time to view your blog and I see that we share some interests, i.e. Genocidio / Genocide. I subscribed that one and it is tough to shake down over there, sigh.

You are right - it would be too bad if there were no video being made on presenters! But I had seen several people videotaped those presenters and others. I think that someone may provide some videos once they are finished with edit, etc. For one, I am hopeful that someone may be doing so - click and view there: http://www.deafvideo.tv/video/watch/14728/ This young woman has so much energy and many good ideas to share; determines to make them happen in real life.

George Veditz - I definitely am with you. It would be fascinating to see actual in making of movie about 1880 Milan
Conference and also Martha's Vineyard ( see more info., click here -> http://www.mvgazette.com/news/2006/10/20/deaf_community_play.php )

Thanks so much for leaving your comments here. I am always happy to share your ideas, appreciation, encouragement, and so forth.

DeafRead friends in unity,
Kathryn
